Upstart Arkansas rode the passing combination of quarterback Bill Montgomery and end Chuck Dicus to a 16-2 upset of No. 4 Georgia in front of 82,113.
Montgomery, who completed 17-of-39 passes for 185 yards and a touchdown, led the Razorbacks to a 10-2 halftime lead before Bob White finished the Arkansas scoring with a pair of field goals in the fourth quarter.
On the day, Dicus hauled in a record 12 passes for 169 yards and a TD and was named "Most Outstanding" player.
Georgia's only real scoring threats came as the result of Razorback fumbles. On their deepest penetration, coming early in the third quarter, the Bulldogs suffered a fumble, losing the pigskin after having a 3rd-and-goal situation at the Razorback 2.
